Regular speed camera database updates for the Aguri DX1250 speed trap detector are available via our website and are typically released around once per month to ensure the most accurate alerts.
To update both the Speedshield speed camera database and the DX1250 firmware, scroll to the bottom of this page and select the Download button. This will download a compressed (zipped) folder to your computer, usually saved in your Downloads folder, titled “DX1250 Speed Trap Database & Firmware Update.”
Once the download is complete, unzip the folder using software such as 7-Zip or a similar extraction tool. Then remove the SD card from your DX1250 device and insert it into your computer using a compatible SD card reader.
Open the SD card on your computer so the existing video files are visible (you may need to delete some video files to create space to add the update files). Finally, copy (or drag and drop) the newly extracted DX1250 update files from your computer onto the SD card.
After safely ejecting the SD card, reinsert it into your DX1250 to complete the update process.
In some cases, only the edogdata.dat file may appear. This simply means that no firmware, audio, or hardware updates are required at this time, and the only update available is the speed trap database.
It is important that you only transfer these individual files to the root of the SD card and not the entire ‘zipped’ folder, otherwise the update will not work.
Once you have copied the files to the SD card, safely remove the SD card from your computer and re-insert it in to your DX1250.
Power on the unit and the DX1250 will automatically install each of the updates and information on the LCD screen will keep you informed of it’s progress.
Once the update is complete the unit will re-start and will be ready to use again.
